  Sherry Kughn has been writing for the past 25 years - from College to present day, in conjunction with Newspapers, Magazines, Newsletters, Writing Feature Articles and Community Pages. For 22 years, Sherry worked at The Anniston Star Newspaper in Anniston, Alabama, serving as a News Assistant, writing news features, and doing book reviews. She worked as Executive Secretary, Staff Writer, Religion Writer and Community Page Editor. Sherry is the managing editor of The Spirit Spotlight, a quarterly publication promoting Anniston and its businesses.

1986-2007... The Anniston Star Newsroom - Community Page Editor/Staff Writer/News Assistant... served all duties of news assistant, news briefs, obituaries, feature obituaries, calendar items, creating and handling a database; 1991 - served as religion writer for one year; 1995 - served for 3 months in lifestyle section; 1997-2002 - served as executive secretary.

Speaking Experience:

Conducted tours at The Anniston Star from 1986-2002. Introduced speakers at Accent on the Author luncheons from 2000-2006, and have spoken at various Ladies' Days and Bible classes at church throughout the past 30 years. Conducted interviews for Jacksonville State University radio program in 2004, and have spoken several times about the "Heart Tree for Empty Nesters" to groups in Anniston, and on local radio and television stations from 2006-present. Spoke at a ladies' day in Cookeville, Tennessee in April 2008. Appeared May 10, 2008 on WVTM NBC 13 in
Birmingham.
